Diane was born and raised in Livingston, Montana. She attended Montana State University, majoring in languages, then completed a Master's Degrees in German from Kent State University. She taught high school for a few years before working on the bookmobile in Portland, Oregon. She then traveled to Hawaii, where she excelled in the M.L.S. program at the University of Hawaii, Manoa and met her husband. After working as a college librarian and instructor of Library Science for several years, she went into the public library system at Fort Vancouver Regional Library (Vancouver, WA), where she worked until retiring in 2001. I am very proud to be her husband of 45 years (and counting),
